Abbey West
On November 22nd 2006, our lives changed forever. We were planning to
spend the Thanksgiving holiday out in the desert. I stayed home to
prepare the Thanksgiving meal for the next day. My husband and our
two daughters Katie 16 and Abigail 13 went out to the desert and where
setting up camp. They were going to come back into town the next morning
to eat with our family and then we were all going to go back out to
the desert.
At 9:30pm a friend got a call and said "Abbey's dead"! Myhusband
Jeff said "not my Abbey she's here"! A friend of
ours said "no" Jeff I told her she could go with my niece to guide
someone back to camp". They were in a Yamaha Rhino and were turning
back to camp when the vehicle rolled over and partially ejected Abbey
and broke her neck. She died instantly.
Abbey was an 8th grade honor
student, she loved horses and barrel racing, was on the volleyball team,
a member of the 4H club and always had a smile on her face she had a
tremedo us love of life, and she loved going to the desert.
Our lives
as we knew it will never be the same.
