Sarah Beth Pratt

BrookeSarah Beth Pratt, my youngest daughter, lost her life to a Honda 500 cc ATV while racing with her cousin in a hay field. She was only 12 years old. She died of head injuries and multiple internal injuries in her oldest sister, Tasha's arms. I was working at a nearby furniture store when I received the call.

I rushed to the hospital to find Tasha and her Dad standing there covered in blood. All Tasha could say to me was, "It's bad Mama, It's real bad." Then the words came from the Doctor that no Mother wants to hear. "I'm sorry.....she's gone.....”

The frustrating tragedy is that manufacturers and legislative officials continue to profit from the sale of these machines. Making the lives that are lost unimportant. After all, you can't legislate stupidity.

This angers me and gives me the courage I need to stand for what we all need to do and demand to be heard. Children don't belong on any ATV!
