AUSTIN ALEGRE

Anthony Paul WodzinskiI took my daughter Allison and my son Austin on our traditional summer vacation. This year it was to Rocky Point, Mexico. We went with my girlfriend and her two sons. Something was wrong with this trip. My gut told me to leave. But the kids were having such a good time. So, we stayed.

The next day my worst nightmare occurred. I promised to take the four kids quadding. This was a very difficult decision because my girlfriends older son almost lost his leg on a quad 4 years prior. But a promise is a promise.

We were almost heading back and my daughter and myself were too far back to see what happened. When I approached I saw someone on the ground. It was my beautiful son Austin. I didnt know what to do so I performed CPR with no response. My son died in my arms. I heard his last breathe. And I began the agonizing journey of a broken heart forever to come.

The quad crush Austin's chest and rupturred his aoerta. He bled internally and died very quickly. The coroner said if it was an inch in any direction Austin would of walked away with just a bruise.

Austin is/was a beautiful boy inside and out. Very intelligent, loved by all, very popular with the kids, worked at Safeway since age 14, skateboarded, snowboarded, played the guitar, played soccer, extremely loving, and gave the biggest and best hugs in the world! Austin Jordan Alegre age 15 is my best friend!
